for my first 4th year exhibition I wanted to create a piece combining all the different techniques i’ve explored. I ended up. creating 2 paintings displayed in different areas and very different sizes. My pieces explore the idea of animal desensitisation. the notion of funny animals born in comics and tv shows of anthropomorphised animals to present day of a monkey pointing at slime. The trend has led to animal representation being slimmed down to the bare minimum. My piece explores the animals reaction to their desensitised self. painting the lion in bright and bold strokes representing the power and beauty of the animal that has been reduced and rendered to the minimum.the pieces convey a battle between representations and the coexistence between them.
